Disappointed in Disney

I had seen the reports that Disney is going to add an African-American character to its Princess lineup. My initial reaction, as the father of a five-year-old girl, was, “Well, that’s more merchandise for me to buy.” As some of the plot details have come out, other commentators have pointed out that perhaps Disney hasn’t quite thought through some of the connotations of The Frog Princess.
