I've seen a bunch of those parodies - I think the biggest repository I've seen so far is here. My favorite is the one that takes the car driving past the dangling electrical line and says "Time travel is an excellent option after a terrorist attack. Remember, you must reach exactly 88 mph and hit the dangling power line in order for the flux capacitor to operate properly."[This message has been edited by Dave Thomer (edited 03-21-2003).] |

I like the one that sets a bunch of the illustrations to the tune of the Talking Heads' "Once In A Lifetime." Another case where I laughed out loud at three in the morning. |

And of course there's ALl Your Base Are Belong to Us working on a comeback, too. Two Internet memes that taste great together! |

Am I the only one saddened by the fact that The Onion no longer keeps a very extensive archive of its stuff? At least they still have Larry Groznic's 'I Appreciate the Muppets on a Much Deeper Level Than You,' which includes the following gem:Please recall, if you will, the night I first showed you The Muppet Movie. It's bad enough that you hadn't grown up loving the film, but afterwards you called it, and I quote, "funny." Not "a deeply spiritual and highly personal statement of ambition tempered by ethics," but "funny." |

'Tis with a heavy heart that I have to note the passing of Brunching Shuttlecocks. The guys promise sporadic updates on their own sites, but it would seem that Lore, at least, seems to be pursuing traditional publishing more enthusiastically. This just probably means that they're wiser, and will soon be more financially solvent, than I. |

I read about this site today on Drudge and it's really too much and really quite sad. It's www.hollywoodiscalling.com. Basically for about $20 you can get a personal phone call from the celebrity has been of your choice. For an extra $10 you can get some sort of package deal with a handwritten note. I had no idea who some of the people were and then there those whose drop from the B-status heavens was just so sad. I mean Greg Evigan is schilling for this? And then they didn't even list "My Two Dads" in his resume! My favorite, though, was that Lorenzo Lamas working through this. I was not surprised about him because he was interviewed for the Washington Post article about the site. It was the fact that his ex-wife, Shauna Sand-Lamas, is on the site too! What a shame that Renegade and their marriage just didn't work out. |

Gee, sorry to hear that "Who's Hot: The Search for the Sexiest People In America" didn't relaunch his career. Or whatever that nutty little short-lived reality show was. What I want to know is: how many of those people are also running for governor of California? |

And I'm in utter shock that this isn't on here already: Home Star Runner is chock full of hilarity! I recommend the Strong Bad Emails. And don't forget to click "First time here?" on the main menu. |
